Just took engine out of car.

Just to let everyone know that you can rebuild your engine yourself with no special tools.

Me and 3 friends just lifted the engine out of the car with no cherry picker. Pretty cool. This has got to be the coolest car ever. I even lifted the engine myself and moved it a few feet. Its an 89-91 N/A short block...

After that I put it in my Geo metro and boy does it lug. Off to the shop for rebuilding. After that me and my friends will just pop her back in.

Oh yeah dont worry about that. Its super easy. Just an extension and 14mm socket. Thiers 5 bolts mabey 6 I forgot. The starter and the clutch servo will have to come off. After this wedge something in between the tranz and engine so you can dislocate them. Otherwise mabey hit it with a big soft hammer. In my case it wasnt stuck or anything so I just pulled it off quite easily. The tranz cross memeber has to come off for the tranz to push back enoughf to get off.

All I used was a jack and stand on the driver side of car. Thats it.

Just a concerned citizen here, but are you talking about your own shop, where you're going to be doing the rebuilding? And if so, have you done it yet? I'm a bit confused by your contradictory statements.

No. But you can completly take everything out of car and engine with 10/12/14mm socket and extension. As far as rebuilding you own yeah you can do it yourself to witht he same toolz but you will also need a 1 inch air tool for flywheel nut and front main pulley nut...

I decided to rebuild it at the profesional shop and have them teach me how. Its easy ****. cheap to especially if you do it yourself.

Personally I think its easier to break the front pulley loose before pulling the motor out. Then torque it back down to like 20ft/lbs. Much easier than ******* with it once its on the floor/stand/whatever.
