Just a quick question
Just a quick question
hey does anyboby know if the australian deleiverd 86 turbo had an lsd from factory im pretty sure it did i just want a 2nd opion. I have search high and low and can't find anything on the australian model
It's easy to tell if you have the vehicle.. look under on the diff and there should be an LSD tag on the rear.
Alternatively, you could jack the car up, and turn a tire. If the other tire spins it's an LSD.
It doesn't even matter much, with the age of these cars the clutch type LSDs are supposed to wear out after about 5 years, so after 20, they're almost completely worn out. My LSD barely functions at all.

Alright.
- If you looked under it and *didn't* see the tag it could have been removed, or you could have an open diff.
- It wouldn't even operate well anymore due to its age, to get any use out of it, you'll have to rebuild/replace it
- This 2nd Gen Sticky (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-642372/) explains everything.
yeah i searched that thread and the other one before i made this one and it was no use, it only tells me about the us and jdm model and mine is the aus model which is different to these i might ring mazda up or something and see what i can find
thats what i thought, all turbo'ed 2nd gens came with LSD no? i thought the only diffrence was between s4 and s5 versus vicous or clutch pack type?

ok i rang up mazda australia to ask them if it had lsd. Well they asked me for my vin so i told them and they said it was an 87 model built in september of 86 which i didnt no i thought it was an 86, they told me everything like when it was first registered and ect. Here is the unlucky part the australian delievered turbo rx7's didnt have lsd as it wasnt a factory option for the australian market. THe lsd's were only in the japanese and the other models round the world, so there you go the australian TII doesnt have lsd its an open diff.
