It's easy to tell if you have the vehicle.. look under on the diff and there should be an LSD tag on the rear.

Alternatively, you could jack the car up, and turn a tire. If the other tire spins it's an LSD.

It doesn't even matter much, with the age of these cars the clutch type LSDs are supposed to wear out after about 5 years, so after 20, they're almost completely worn out. My LSD barely functions at all.

Alright.
  1. If you looked under it and *didn't* see the tag it could have been removed, or you could have an open diff.
  2. It wouldn't even operate well anymore due to its age, to get any use out of it, you'll have to rebuild/replace it
  3. This 2nd Gen Sticky (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-642372/) explains everything.

Again, jack the rear, turn the tire. Make sure you don't have the parking brake on, or the transmission in gear.

ok i rang up mazda australia to ask them if it had lsd. Well they asked me for my vin so i told them and they said it was an 87 model built in september of 86 which i didnt no i thought it was an 86, they told me everything like when it was first registered and ect. Here is the unlucky part the australian delievered turbo rx7's didnt have lsd as it wasnt a factory option for the australian market. THe lsd's were only in the japanese and the other models round the world, so there you go the australian TII doesnt have lsd its an open diff.
