Just an old member looking for a quick answer.

So, I did a t2 swap in my 90 gxl, figured everything out, just runs wierd when it fires off...running off a n350 ecu...

I have the jdm t2 harness and motor (s5)

Someone called me and I never got his name, but he told me to get a chipped n370 ecu and that will cure the issue...

see heres the thing, i dont remember if he said n374 or n370...but I know it needs to be chipped for sure, who can clear this up for me.

N370 is the US S5 TII ECU, which will plug in and work just fine.

N374 is a Japanese S5 turbo ECU, which must be chipped or it will not fire the injectors properly.

You should also never run a turbo engine on an NA ECU like the N350. It's a good way to blow the engine under boost.

yeah, I know that much, but its a jdm motor and harness. So i was thinking 374 chipped? or would the 370 work with the jdm harness?

The N370 will work on your JDM harness.

The N374 will probably NOT work unless it is chipped.

The problems that occur with the N374 J-spec ECU seem to be with the US-spec front harness connection, so whether the emissions harness is US or J-spec doesn't seem to matter.
