brake pads - where to buy?

Hello All,

So I live in Canada and am having a hell of a time finding brake pads for my 86 rx7.

It seems that no one can get them, and if they can, they can only get the "new and improved" pads that are like double the price of normal brake pads ($120 just for rear pads, and forced to buy other hardware with them).

Can anyone tell me if they know of a good online retailer or wholesaler that sells cheap pads? Preferrably in Canadian funds if possible. But any help is much appreciated!

Thanks -

great deals

Hello, so I just ordered from www.autopartsway.ca/

This is by FAR the best deals around that I've found, I paid $16.99 CDN for front and $29.99 for rear. Plus free shipping and found a code for an extra 5% off.

Can't be beat. This is a Canadian warehouse, so all you Canadians keep this site in mind, I will def. be going back, assuming I get my order promptly.

Cheers -

Any old brake pads from your auto store are fine. The performance pads offer improved response, but don't actually decrease your braking distances b/c once the wheel locks then road traction becomes the limiting factor. Performance pads also tend to create more dust and don't last as long IIRC. I wouldn't bother for daily driving.

EDIT: Oh, you already got them. Well, I hope you have the wrench attachment for pushing back the rear piston. It's at any auto store if you don't, looks like a cube with a square hole in each face.
