just need confirmation on to4b upgrade.

iv been searching for the past few days and have came to a conclusion. to do a to4b hybrid i need the housing compressor and backplate. is this correct. does any "to4b" housing comp. and backplate fit the rest of the stock turbo? im going to get the turbo city rebuild kit also. All other car mods are already done (or will be done when it ready to run). Again im just making sure this is all correct before i continue on.
thanks.

It is recommended to have a turbo shop do the work.
The turbo needs to be (dynamically) balanced, so it's not a DIY job...
If you don't balance it, you can sacrifice reliabilty as an unbalanced turbo will eat itself.

i will have a shop balance it (thats not what i asked in my question. i want to know if those are the only parts i will need). i have tore down two of my junk turbos and it doesnt look too complex. So, my original question still stands.

"Small" T04B compressor upgrades can be done with the stock compressor housing, but it needs to be machined out.

All you need is the compressor backing plate and the compressor wheel.
Getting the T04B compressor housing makes it a bolt-on affair and does not require machining the stock compressor housing.

Oh, and if it wasn't obvious, you need a compressor backing plate made for a "carbon" seal.
If you get the "dynamic" seal one, it won't fit.
