Just installed a termostat and the water boils

Well the car started to over heat when the weather here got around 90+ degrees. my mechanic said that perhaps a new termostat would help since it's probably the original.

now the car runs fine. the temp guage goes above what the normal temp guage would go and stays as if that is the new normal operating water temp. When i get done driving it i pop the hood (i seem to do that every 15 mintues) to check it all out and the water overflow is... overflowing and bubbles are coming out as if the water is boiling. there is hardly any collant in the lines when I open the radiator cap.

1) Verify the radiator is not clogged.
2) Get a pressure test to see if the cooling system is leaking.
