Thumbs up Just installed the Apexi GT series Exhaust on my car... WOW.

Anyways, I've been driving around for the past two months or so with an 80mm DP/MP combo bolted to my STOCK Y-pipe/cat-back... This is not 'good times', because there's obviously quite a difference in size, lol. Since I knew this was going to be temporary until I could afford a decent cat-back, I didn't want to weld the two different sized pipes together. Instead of welding, I opted to "create" a wack sheet-metal plate/gasket combo that would prevent the major exhaust leak from being too unbearably heinous... Long story short, it was VERY heinous, lol.

To sum up my experience, my TII was EXTREMELY loud (like lawnmower x 2 and crappy sounding).

Well, today I was finally able to remedy my exhaust problems. I drove 2 hours (100mph most of the time) down to Vancouver WA to meet a seller of a single exit Apexi GT spec exhaust (the nicest exhaust Apexi makes, ooooh).

Turns out the guy was the co-owner of Corksport! He helped me put it on down at their facility so I could drive home with it installed. That place is frikkin' cool. There were so many sweet cars in their garage (500whp FD etcccc)

After we got the exhaust on the car and he disposed of the crappy stock cat-back, he told me to fire it up so we could see if there were any exhaust leaks. I got in the car and turned the key, I heard a deep whop, whop as the engine pulsed to life. I HONESTLY expected it to be loud but clean sounding (since it is a straight through design at 95mm in some places)... But it was FRIKKIN' quiet!!!

It sounded like a NORMAL car!!! I revved it up and it had the deepest, smoothest, quietest note I've ever heard on an FC. Even the RB exhaust sounds really "buzzy" in comparison. I had a direct comparison too, because the guy who sold me the exhaust had his TII with RB exhaust there.

I was looking for a cheap, straight through cat-back like CS or SSautochrome, but I'm very glad I ended up with this. Although I only had to pay $300 (retail is $675 from CS) I would recommend this exhaust to anyone who can afford it.

Oh, and on the way home I pulled off I-5 to tighten my turbo exhaust manifold bolts and some random dude stopped and started asking me about my TII, saying that he worked at a custom turbo/intercooler shop and that they were looking for a 'genuine' TII to use as a 'guinea pig' for a TII FMIC kit that they intend to sell. Pretty much, I might be getting a FMIC setup for free. OWW!

yeah i have that exhaust system too, pretty quiet at low rpm and in neutral you could barely hear it but once you go on higher rpms it becomes deeper

hahah.....i have the gt too. such a nice deep tone. the only thing i was worried about was it getting to be too loud once i changed the dp/mp. but i guess it still holds its nice deep tone.
*it goes from 65-75-85 mm* not 95

ahhh... I didn't bust out the measuring tape or whatever, all I saw is the stock nonsense that all the distributors say about the GT style and sizing.
