Ok if it is just flooded it will be simple to get it started just pull the fuse that controls teh fuel pump I think it is the EGI fuse under the hood. After pulling the fused crank the car for about ten seconds with the pedal to the floor and I MEAN the FLOOR. Repeat about two or three times and then replace the fuse and then try to start the car a couple of times and it should turn over.

I hope you have been around this forum a while because if you havent done your home work you are going to be in trouble with this car you need to be very religious about maintenace and all that stuff. I you will have to learn to do your own repairs.

Rules: 1. Do not take your rx-7 to the local shop unless they are rotary specialists. 2. Be prepared for a lot of initial work to bring the car back to life(all new fluids when you get it new plugs new filters and anything else that is replaced on the car. 3. Do not expect the car to have been taken care of by teh previous owner at all. 4. I hope you have the bawls to stick with the car and do all the neccessary things for it or else your car will break down very soon.

the engine is most liky getting weak if it's flooding. or it might just need a good tune up.

I know a lot of people don't like the atf trick but you may want to look that up. it might help... although your problem doesn't seem like a carbon buildup related one.

Though you've probably got some carbon in there.

Better do a compression test. Try how stuff works dot com wow I spelled that out hehe. Yeah the most common way an rx-7 floods is when the car is still cold and is shut off because the engine is not able to burn off the fuel that drips off the injectors so the gasoline dissolves the oil which is supposed to make the engine have good compression and the car will not start. I suggest investing in a tune up for the car to see if it will start easier. The unflooding procedure I described may have to be used again if the car floods again it is not a permanet fix.

new injectors would probably be enough to fix it.

I would get a compression test done on it before you bought it though.

Uh if the motor is tiered only a rebuild I guess. but probably not a tired engine since my car only flooded once and I have 146k miles on it. What does atf stand for or is it a product name?

$75.

A new motor will almost always fix a flooding engine. Injectors won't always help.

WWW.victoriabritish.com go there to get a free catalog dude.

Thanks for the ATF thing.

Like my friend says start with the cheap stuff and work your way to the expensive stuff that way you do not spend 2g's instead of like 200 bux.

Uh IMO high school automotive classes will not teach you much about the rotary engine in our RX-7's. How much are you going to pay for the car.

I have spent about 3500 total including the 2k for teh car itself and will be spending about 1500 on the mazdatrix exhaust soon since suds7 never got back to me on his system. Oh well. Things can get a lil expensive but you will love the car absolutely. Maybe you will get lucky and your proffesor will know something but do not trust too much of what he says check the forum before you follow his advice so you don't **** anything up. I would recommend you get the Factory service manual for your car and also the haynes manual both are very helpfule but the factory one is alot better than the haynes. Best $100 buck you can spend.
