Just got an RX-7(1990) need to know everything
I just got a 1990 RX-7 and was wondering; how hard it will be to turbo it, cost, best turbo, but I saw a '7 with a frickin' blower! Thats what I realy wanna do. How do I do it, and how much. Any advice on anything for my car will be much obliged. thank you.
Do a search on Turbo conversions, etc.
It's easier to slap a turbo onto your non turbo engine than it is to put an entire turbo/engine/drivetrain/electronics into your N/A chassis.
It's feasible, but a pretty involved and potentially expensive project- Takes a lot of aquired knowledge to do it properly.

I got the knowledge.....
I have friends who can help with the turbos. They all had 2nd Gen.
RX-7's that they converted. I was realy wondering about that blower. That would be an eye catcher right there. Just to see an RX-7 with a blower.

Isnt there a difference in the compression in the n/a block versus the turbo block. the turbo block (i think) have lower compression than an n/a block so putting a turbo on an n/a woul (in the long run) cause more pain than pleasure.

Yep, turbo block is meant for turbos.
If you want a turbo FC. Buy a turbo II. It's not worth the hassle.
You can get the N/A somewhat fast so don't think its slow no matter what (not like they're slow stock)

Thanks
Thanks you guys, I Almost had a turbo put on about a week ago but I decided to ask first. Glad I did. Do you have any mod sugestions? The car is all stock. Oh and I think I have a throttle positioning sensor bad or off or whatever. Because my car boggs under heavy acceleration. It pisses me off. Any suggestions?
