Just got my first Rotary Pics to come...Quick question too..
In the faq it says to check to see if your coolant seals are bad you have to fill the coolant all the way up will the car is off and cool. Then crank the engine with the egi fuse out. Now if the engine seems to drink the coolant as it is cranking the seals are bad or is it if the coolant starts to spill out of the top of the coolant fill spout the seals are bad?
Thanx for any help....

no overheating...Some smoke at startup not enough to tell what color though. I hold the car at 6k in nuetral for 30sec and no smoke when i let off or during. I think i read you should do that somewhere. Here is my problem. Just got the car and im sure it needs a tune up but the thing is that it is extremly slow. Way slower than my 240 which is stock engine wise besides exhaust and intake so like i said basically stock. Now i feel no power come on or off. Just a slow accel from 2k to 7k. No powerbands or better pull at high rpm. The car does have a TII clutch, flywheel, trans, driveshaft, lsd. but i dont now if those things will make it that slow.

i didn't check to see if the 5&6 port are working but i dont think they are becouse the are pump is not hooked up to anything and that is what activates it to my understanding. Man this whole thing is so new to me.

Welcome to the rotary community, and, well, NA rotaries aren't all that quick stock but it should be about even with a 240 I'd imagine. I highly doubt that your coolant seals are a problem, why did you think so anyway? I'd say to do a full tune up (spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, flush coolant, check timing, etc.) and make sure your 5th,6th ports are working. Also, maybe your secondary injectors are stuck closed.
What year and model is this car?

well inever thought that the coolant leak was the problem that was me just making sure my engine was going to last. Had nothing to do with it being slow. 91 gtu coupe of course 5spd. would those tII parts make the car drastically slower? I can seem to find a right up someone refered to in a post about how to make your aux porst run of your air pump for like $15 in parts or something. Not asking you to make a write up but maybe you know the site or a link to it. Also how do i know if my secondary injectors are working?
