i was out working on the 7 and decided to try unhooking my trailing coil and see if my car acted diff. when i started it without the trailing coil hooked up, it does the same thing. is my trailing coil fucked up. cuz when i try to drive my car it has a power loss like a ******* civ(when trailing is plugged on or off). i cant even get it to the speed limit no matter how much gas i give it or how little gas. still jumping idle. but i think its my tps still. im going to put the one that worked better back on and see what i get. hopefully that will help.

Hey man, back to basics- have you checked all of the simple things, i.e. clogged cat, clogged fuel pump filter, clogged main filter, major freakin' vac leak, plugs that should have been changed 5,000 miles ago, plug wires with 100,000 miles on 'em, injectors that should have been professionally cleaned 10,000 miles ago, too many ground wires, lol...

i just ripped off the uim and im checking for all my vac lines to see if there still hooked up. i think its my trailing coil that **** the bed. im gonna hook up the tps that seemed to give me the less of problems and see if it helps. when i get the uim back on of course. i did check the afm and it seems okay.

Angry

wayne itll make it easier if you were here. dammit. I threw the old tps on and had it set to 1kohm. rehooked up the uim and made sure the gasket was good still, checked all hoses for vac leaks. tried starting it, and some power is back, but still revving up and down. bahh. guess i have to do it waynes way(check everything from the ecu). dammit. you win wayne. I just like waisting my time thats all i guess.

I followed the grounding thread on the FAQ. so thats how many extra grounds i have.

ps also i checked the trailing coil and there firing. god dammit.

Tell me this- did your problems start popping up after the grounding thing?

Only way to know for damn sure if the ECU is seeing a good TPS input is to check it AT the ECU...Only way, man...

If your TPS signal is good at the ECU, check a couple more sensors while you're there (FSM), and if all those guys are good, humor me and take her down to only one engine-to-chassis ground, OK?

k, it happend after i took off the tps i just put on, the old one, and threw on another one, cuz a peice of plastic was broken off it. so it was kinda moving around while driving. so i tried throwing a diff one on there, but it was doing a 1kohm to 8kohm sweep. and i was driving around with it like that, but now it just kept on getting worst so i tried throwing on the old tps. still revving up and down now. i really didnt change anything at all, besides the tps. and it still sputters . ill check at the ecu. what page on the fsm is that ecu diagram for what pins are what.

No sine waves on our cars...In other words, DC all the way

Positive lead at the ECU pin, negative on a metal stud nearby.

This is why I wrote the "ECU" thingy- so I wouldn't have to type this stuff anymore, lol...

You pulling an all-nighter? Get anywhere on the ECU/TPS signal yet?

okay turned my idle screw mostly down so that the plates are are close to being closed. adjusted the tps all the way out. checked the volts from the ecu. adjusted as needed. stared her up. no jumping idle. but still aloss of poewr. i think i might have dead spots. so ill try replacing the tps with one i never tried yet. ill test the other stuff, afm, pressure sensor.

Hey man, while you're sitting there in the driveway (or wherever) with the meter hooked up to the TPS input, turn the key on, and slowly push the peddle down. You should see the meter needle move smoothly up the range, up to about 4v. Any "hiccups" with the needle, and your TPS has that dreaded dead spot. But if everything is smooth, your TPS should be good to go...

okay did the sweep thing and everything looks to be okay, from 1v to around 4 v. no hiccups. i adjusted some other things and started her up. and she works great, at low rpms. as soon as boost hits, it loses all power and it seems like its going to stall. is there something i missed? pressure sensor is hooked up. so idk. and i think i lost my cell phone. left it ontop of my car. ****. if its not one thing its another.

All right, your TPS is good, quit messing with it, lol...Just make sure you're hot, and the fast idle cam is "inactive" when you're getting your 1 volt, and all will be well with your TPS...

Lost your cell phone? Comedy of errors, man...My condolences

So, back to the hesitation- now that you know your TPS is good, hop to another sensor input at the ECU (I'd go AFM or boost sensor next), and see what they do...One step at a time, called troubleshooting

Are you the one with all the "extra" grounds, or was that Honda Dude?
