Just put on the hks intercooler this weekend. Tried to do the power steering too, but it started snowing on me. Makes me realize how badly I need a frickin garage! Also finally bought some tools too, it was always such a pain going to friends houses to work on my car. Anyways, here's some pics.

Talk about perfect fitment...

So I still need to do my power steering, add the g-master super angle kit, buy speedjunkies gauge set-up (boost, water temp, and oil temp gauges) by an afr gauge and put them all in before march 27th.... I'm running out of time.

there's a new innovate wideband that's similar to the LC1 but cheaper, and has a gauge that's a tad bit more expensive than the DB but nearly as good as the xd16
MTX-L
$189

I actually was just looking at those. I might hold off for now, I'm building a custom pod to hold three gauges where my front vent is, so I wanted WT, OT, and AFR there and put the boost gauge right above my steering wheel. But I'll just put the boost gauge there for now, and when I have the extra cash I'll get the AFR... I had no idea they were over $200 until today, haha.

you mean under? prices on widebands have gone way down lately. The lc1/xd16 combo used to be 380-400 two years back, now its just under 300. and the AEM Uego used to be 300 and now its around 170.

Going on their site and including the warranty, Innovative is $200, AEM is $220, and another cheapo one I found started at $180, so yeah... above $200

I can't post links to non-rx7club-vendor sites, but I promise there's cheaper deals out there that still have a warranty.

I'm buying my friends this week. He's got a tree fiddy and is swapping to the aem one, so I'm taking his plx one off his hands. Only has had it a few months.

Lol, what's ghetto about my engine bay? I haven't cleaned it since I did the swap, so it's a little dirty, but ouch man! Haha

Lol, to be different. And most likely at drift events I'll be running with no hood, so why not have a big smiley face in the engine bay, haha.

I don't think id take the hood off at a drift event the hood helps push air down on to your intercooler and good find by the way those are hard to get lol the only thing Id do is clean up the charge piping by getting a BOV flange welded on to the charge tank of the intercooler

Also you could easily ghetto fab a intercooler sprayer for when it gets hot or right before a run spray water on to the intercooler to help drop the temps You can use your windsheild washer for that Or I don't know if american cars came with it you can use the headlight washer system to spray the intercooler All canadian cars came with them

You're not blowing up pipes because of the top mount. Its because of that horrendous plumbing job, lol..

I would set aside some money for piping and tbolt clamps.

Lol, I know it's ghetto, but the couplers were tearing in the middle, not popping off. I have some high psi ones, and with the new ic, it holds all day. One day I'll un-ghettofy the engine.... one day. For now I have more pressing issues to deal with.

Finally got done putting in my new gauges (Boost, Water Temp and Oil Temp) Now I just gotta paint it black to match the interior. Looks really good imo.
