I just took the engine of 90 GXL. The back rotor has no compression. When we, my father and I, set the engine down we noticed that the front rotor housing had a big "F" written on it with a paint marker, the rear rotor housing had an "R" written on it (below the leading plug hole) My father thought the rotor housing may have come from a junkyard, so maybe the engine had been rebuilt before. Has anyone else seen similiar markings?? Just curious. Thanks!

 

Most likely was rebuilt before. A lot of rebuilders mark them so they know where they go.

 

or simply someone wasnt sure which is the front and back rotor...
rotor housings are interchangable....

 

how many miles? if more than 150k, definitely a possibility!

 

The car only had 63k miles....... Anyway I was just curious. I bought a jspec turbo engine to put in, but now I've got a ton of important questions......
