Jsut got 88 GXL 2 hours ago, shitty prob-makes no power past 4k RPM's
Previous owner thought it was something with the throttle control or something, Im one of the new guys so i dont remember what it was, mixes the oxygen and ****. Well he messed with that and now he thinks it may be running too rich. IN all the gears once I get to right before 4000 RPM's it like cuts out and dies, bogs real bad. Makes no power at all. But when its in nuetral or the cluthc is in I can rev it to high hell without any problem. WHAT THE F*CK IS WRONG?!?!? Please help, Im in love with it already, and I want to get this prob cleared up. Thanks alot.
Sounds like the secondary injectors are not injecting. If you just ease the car thru 4000 rpm will it pull to say 6000? That for starters. Could be the engine and the ECU do not have good grounds, causing the injectors to not inject. Also visit this site http://www.k2rd.com/FC3S/faq.html You should bookmark this site because it has a lot of helpful hints. Here is another good site http://www.fc3s.org/ and there is also a free download at the fc3s.org for the factory service manual. It, the factory service manual is also available at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com If you download the fsm, its sectoion 4A for a N/A or section 4B for turbo, that deals with the fuel system.

No load in neutral. If memory serves, the four barrels on some carberated cars do not open in neutral just reving the engine. Takes a load on the engine. Edit...I meant all four barrels do not open.
If I remember properly, there is some kind of actuator that operates at about 3700-400rpm. I believe it primes the secondary injectors, but not sure. In normally running cars, you car even feel a slight lag at that rpm range. I cant remember the name of that actuator right now, but Ill get back to you. That could be the problem though.

Josepi.... I stand humble and corrected. Mine musta been busted. Put a four barrel Holley(465cfm) with Racing Beat manifold on to solve my problems(1982 RX7), and the Racing Beat header with presilence didn't hurt a thing either. Darn bad steering gear on that car though.
Something else that you might want to check on. Its the boost sensor(pressure sensor) on the r/h strut tower. Black in color and rectangular in shape. From the bottom of it there should be a vac hose that runs to the r/h side of the engine. In specific, the top of the Air control valve. That sensor plays an important part in the fuel injection system. Just saying make sure both ends are hooked up and the line is'nt cracked. Just one of several things that can go wrong. Also make sure the electrical connector is on good.
