jspec swap, wiring question

i am planning on swapping a jspec 13bt into my 91 n/a (after rebuilding it).

I was wondering if anyone knows where to get the info to modify my stock harness to run that engine. I have been told that will be the least stressful option as far as getting the wiring hooked up for it.

also, should i run the jspec ecu, or can i run my n/a ecu?

I have searched extensively on this topic, but haven't been able to really find some clear answers.

thanks

You didn't search very hard. Check the FAQ for a link to the FSM. That will tell you how to adapt it. I would run a A-spec ECU with a A-spec harness. It seems that some of the J-Spec harnesses had the CAS switched between the body harness and the motor harness. The motor knows no difference. So base your ECU on your wiring. You cannot run the N/A ECU you need to find a S5 TII ECU.

You need to wire the. Boost sensor, Intake temp sensor, and Exciter wire. If using your existing harness and adapting it. DO NOT do the adding ground to the PS/BS as some have done misinterpreting some posts on here.

Best of luck

^^^ wrong...

you answered something he did not ask
and you can run an NA ecu on a Turbo
you do NOT need to wire the "Boost sensor, Intake temp sensor, and Exciter wire."
you can slap your harness on and it will work

Lets see. Inproper fule map for one
Missing knock sensor
Timing retard at differant rate
A car not in time will run and BLOW UP!
Incapable of reading boost from boost sensor

Exciter wire is part of the body harness on JDM and Motor on USDM
CAS plugs can be reversd as well
Temp wire is part of body on JDM not USDM

Blahh im not gona bother

Running on the N/A ecu without a fuel controller is bad mojo. (Though people have had success using vert ECU's)

I am running on a vert ECU. All we could find ASAP. iceblue ordered a TII ECU and FCD but the dood never shipped items and took my money. So the little that was left we found one from a vert. Martin I have been told is running on a vert as well, or was using before micro stand alone.

Anyways point was just to say I have had luck so far with vert ECU.

Only the 88 vert ECU, the N338 will work a S4 turbo motor. Non of the later models will be compatible.
