You are not running your car properly dude. I suggest you hook up your sensor again. The ACV has to do with emmissions stuff not the boost/pressure sensor so hook that back up. And you could get into trouble for calling people names so you might want to edit yourself or apologize.

I'm doing the swap just right now
Here in Montreal those S5 TII are even cheaper !
I got it for 900 $ can ! Shipping included to my garage.
I also got a custom made driveshaft with the yoke that came with the engine/tranny combo, and found a ECU, Boost sensor and AFM for a good price.
Seriously, a real ggod deal ! I also have a 30 days/startup warranty .

This week-end it should be running, Grrr

Great to hear some good stories. However when I buy a J-spec it will be to use it as a core to rebuild from.

Hmm...a part that says "BOOST SENSOR" in big letters on it. What, oh what, could it DO??

</sarcasm>

Your boost sensor is an important part of a turbo car's control system. IT runs the dash gauge on stock t2's, but it also (much more importantly) retards timing under boost, something that DEFINITELY needs to be happening to save your motor from grenading itself.

The pressure sensor can be hooked up anywhere that sees manifold vacuum/boost. Doesnt have to be the old nipple at the ACV. I use the one above it on the UIM to tee into, personally.

Doesn't the boost sensor connect directly to the LIM/UIM?

Atleast that's where it went on my 88 GTU.

That's gotta be the most retarded bit of logic I've ever heard. You rip off emission gear and suddenly you don't need important ECU inputs? The manifold pressure sensor is a very important sensor on any turbo engine, and you're risking serious engine damage running without one.

You also have a hell of a nerve insulting others like that when you're completely wrong, especially when the info being given to you could save your engine. That attitude is not welcome or tolerated on this forum.

Before you start flaming, you should get your facts straight. When blocking off the ACV, you are supposed to run a new vacuum line to the pressure sensor from the manifold. While the engine will run with it disconnected, it will not run optimally, and you are running very risky without any form of boost-reference timing retardation.

Do your homework on what the pressure sensor does before you start namecalling.

I did'nt get that from them just a basic yeah we got it, and that it had a start up warranty. Actually they said it was going to be an 89 motor but it is an S4 which is my preference anyway. I was a little nervous but they did exactly what they said they would do.
