I'm not positive about this, but when i got my jdm s4 tII engine, it looked as though the wiring harness came off of the right side(when facing the front of the engine), which, i'm guessing is to mean that the right hand drive vehicles mount their ecu on the passenger side just like we do here. The reason people are telling you to use a usdm harness is so that your wiring harness will be set up the right way- for a left hand drive vehicle. I didnt take the time to see if they were all that different as far as the lengths between plugs in the wires, but it seems to me that it would be a pain in the *** to get that harness to come out the other way.

Probably not going to work, without alot of work. Not to mention its probably going to be cut if youre buying the engine from an importer.

Use the LHD harness. It fits properly (for obvious reasons).
