JDM pulsation damper question..

I have a J-spec s4 turbo motor, and my PD is located on the *upper* fuel rail...

the FPR is on the lower rail.... odd?

I was just reading all of these threads about engine fires and it got me nervous... but then i started thinking that because i can SEE the PD at all times it should be a safer setup?? I felt the screw while the car was idling the other day and it feels like its in there good and tight.....

feedback?

Odd but normal. I have no idea why it's different, but most J-spec engines are this way.

Depends how often you look at it. But you're right that it's much easier to see so it'd be easier to notice a problem.

so when the Jspec guys want to go with an aftermarket AFPR,

do we have to change both rails? and convert to US lower rail and aftermarket upper?

or leave the upper as is and modify the lower rail? or is the jspec FPR on the S5 removable?

lemme re-phrase

the american S5 secondary rail has the fpr... so to use a AFPR u have to lose the stock integrated fpr rail.. and go with an after market "pipe" and AN fittings..

primary rail stays stock...

with jdm fpr is on primary... therefore to go AFPR does that mean u change the primary rail and leave the secondary stock? or is the Stock FPR not integrated on the JDM primary rail.. and u just convert it to AN fittings?

Seeing as a i just ordered an AFPR, that would be great info to know... i would guess its still the same install?

Which reminds me, how do i install an AFPR? I bought it used and its not coming with instructions. My guess is, take the tank return line and put it INTO the FPR, then take the output and return that to the normal tank return hard line? What do i do with the existing FPR?

I've actually never seen J-spec S5 fuel rails, so I can only assume they're made in a similar fashion. Whatever you do, you're just doing it to the primary rail instead of the secondary. The method is still the same.

Fuel rail to FPR-IN, FPR-OUT to hard line.

You're replacing it. Stick in you box of patrs removed from the car.
