When you move the cursor it should move the mirror in the direction you want it to like normal. The only problem you may have is that since it was from a RHD car there may be limited adjustment on one side or the other, but that's just speculation on my part.

i believe the mount of adjustment for each side is the same b/c i had to move the mirrors back and forth (carefully manually) when i was painting my tii mirrors black, i didn't want to miss nay of that red around the inside lip since i coudln't figure out a safe way to get the glass out of them
installing the mirrors should take you 10 minutes tops, each one is held in place by 3 screws, so yeah its cake.

I don't believe we have that wiring in A-spec cars. It may have been deleted from the J-spec version of the wiring.

It would definately be nice to be able to protect your mirrors but other than figuring out how its powered/controlled I don't think you're going to have much luck.

US cars do not have the wiring for the auto folding option. You would have to wire that option yourself to a switch or the ignition.

I have the normal JDM folding mirrors. They bolt in without modification but Stan is right that the mirror adjustment is limited. JDM mirrors are made for RHD, thus when used on a LHD car, the view has a limited view. I find myself leaning slightly to the right (or center of the car) to get the normal view of US mirrors.
