To get and drop in? No.
To get and rebuild? Yes.
J-spec engines are generally low milage and in good shape internally. This means they make great rebuild cores. On the other hand many of them have also been sitting a long time and the internal seals can be bad.
Most companies that import them are unreliable at best and won't honor any warrenties if they even offer them in the first place so if you get a bad motor you are SOL. Corksport seems to be the only reliable one I've heard of, but I still wouldn't trust a junkyard motor that you don't know the history of.

My plans for a jdm engine depends on when i get it and the amount of money I have.

I kinda plan on dropping it in and getting everything running normally. I do expect also that first sign of snow it is getting pulled out and time for a rebuild. So if i get it just when the snow start flying it will be coming apart before it is put in

Sounds like a good idea. I would still recommend getting one from Corksport. While they might not be the cheapest, they are still reasonable and are actually honest.
