Smile Pics of J-spec 12A Turbos?

Anyone have any pictures of J-spec 12A Turbo cars? I'm specifically looking for a decent shot of the "Rotary Turbo" text graphic that is on the air box cover, or on the bumper badge. Of course ANY 12A Turbo pics would be fun to see as well.

Thanks all,

That all depends on what you are starting with, how far you want to take things, and how good you are at hunting down the necessary parts.

If you get a long block, you will be most of the way there. You can run a stock 12AT ECU and do some custom wiring to save cash, but your output will be limited by the ECU and AFM. You can go nuts and get a TEC II or Tec II ECU on the other extreme, and get as nuts as you want.

This isn't really the kind of answer you can get here. You will have to hunt down someone who has done it, or research what you will need to do a turbo engine swap. It would help to figure out your goals for power and street-ability/drivability first, so you have an idea of what you need to get you there.

Use the search function on the forum, and search the web. The info is out there. I could get carpal tunnel syndrome trying to explain it all here. You can start by checking out my website for the beginning notes on my TII swap to get an idea of what you are getting yourself into. Our advice is no substitute for homework. Although we can help you with specific questions, what you just asked is a VERY broad question, with volumes of equally broad and vague answers.

Back to the pictures please. Anyone possess or know the location of a decent shot of the "Rotary Turbo" text graphic?

And thanks yayarx7!

Felix, the Savanna in that "collage" doesnt belong there. That's the interior of a 83+ 12A turbo, but that Savanna is a 78-80 SA.

I was gonna say, too... that is NOT an S1 interior. Gauges are S2 (from the '83 RX-7 Turbo model, apparently - that don't look like a VOLTMETER in the tach ) center console is S2, S1s had a faux leather boot on the handbrake instead of the on later cars... it would have been an awful lot of trouble to put an entire late interior in a S1 just to make it look different to the .005% of the population who actually know what stock looked like.

Felix Wankel: Do you happen to have a clean crisp larger version of your avatar you could post? That's EXACTLY what I'm in need of.

Don't you have a Jspec intercooler? Take a big pic of it. Maybe we can get rx7passion to take a pic of his for us.

Apparently that green car is out of place. Heres a better shot of it with its nice plaid seats

The interior shots look like theyre out of a red car, but the red car in the pics is a S1 too

Yep I did. I gave it to someone else.

Thanks for the pic. If anyone else has one that's bigger or sharper we may be able to combine images to fit the bill, or at least have some decent images to tweak. This one's pretty good though considering the text we're using it for is only like an inch long...

In case you're wondering, I'm having some white gauge faces made by Jose, and am replacing the "RX-7 GSL-SE" on the tach in this picture with the "Rotary Turbo" text.

Thanks again!!!

in theory you could just change the font on the gauge for volt meter and use it as a boost meter. but that would be a lot of work

Yes it would. I have considered it, but decided to just go with a brand name guage mounted into the clock hole in the dash. I'm also getting a A-pillar guage pod for the other required gauges. Besides, it's kinda nice to have the volt meter...

Yeah I've thought of putting the NA FC voltmeter in my TII where the stock boost gauge is, since the TII's don't have one, and I already have a boost gauge in a pod.
