I know there are a lot of tips and tricks and such on porting in general, I have already good good tips on the intake ports but the exhaust port I always see the same thing. Just making it bigger without any knowledge of why they ported the way they did. So no one knows?

i read its the same as the intake ports, your smoothing them out so that way you can have a scaveging effect, so therefore youre getting as much exhaust out and taking in as much A/F mixture as possible...for a good flow, so there wont be a restriction as exhaust exits the ports( correct me if im wrong)...blake from pineapple racing has 2 articles in mazdasport mag about porting theory on rotaries....its somewhere on the forum..

when you port the exhaust, you can port it to open earlier, close later, or both depending on how you want it to flow for your specific setup.

the engine stand adapter you can make it or get it from pineapple racing for about $60

Well the scavending effect comes from when you have a properly tuned merged exhaust system. The exhaust pulse from one rotor will flow by the other rotors exhaust runner with positive pressure in the front of the pulse while there is negitive pressure in the rear of the pulse which is what "pulls" the positive pressure exhaust pulse from the other rotor and initially gives you the "scavenging effect".

rounding the edges im sure would help pull more exhaust out.

If you close it to late, you could pollute the intake, or if you have it open to early, you could loose some of your combustion energy and loose power? These are just guess's by the way.

Next time you`ll use some dry ice and a hammer
So much easier and you can do other stuff with the car as the ice cools the sound deadening
