problem with the clutch when tring to drive.

Hey guys, i recently put a three puck clutch with the racing beat steel flywheel. when i started the car the clutch would grip all the way at the top, ive tried messeing with the pedal regulator at the back of the pedal but nothing, even worse is that i cant down shift at all, the clutch is vibrating like crazy. It also vibrates when i try taking it out of 1rst gear. The funny thing is that if i hold the clutch down for 7 seconds the clutch doesnt vibrate at all. Oh and it slips when i accelerate.

bad clutch hydraulics is a possibility on the disengagement.

As for the vibrating, sounds like maybe you have a bad clutch disk. What brand is it?

also did you make sure everything was aligned and properly torqued when installed?

Almost also sounds like the pilot bearing is going/gone too.

everything has been properly torqued, i highly doubt its the hydraulics ive changed them recently, one of my dads friends gave the clutch to me i dont kno what brand it is, ive done some research and there isnt many 3 puck clutches, actually i only found exedy to have one, but mines looks nothing like it. plus the strangest thing is that if i hold the clutch down for 7 seconds then let go like i would normally drive it works fine.

Contaminated disk? Maybe something got on it and holding it for 7 seconds lets a lil bit of contamination off so it doesn't wobble.

maybe that clutch isnt for a 2nd gen?? just a guess. look into 3 puck clutches for older cars with same spline setup and maybe you will find the one you have.

Mazdaspeed also used to make a 3 puck clutch for second gen rx7s.

well thnx for the help but i found the problem, i spent the whole day under the car turns out it was a faulty pressure plate. im guessing it wasnt giving enough pressure that the clutch would vibrate. thnx for the help though =D
