i've been given a choice...

Supposedly, in life there are many choices. Would you say i am somewhat correct on this?

We'll, after waiting along time for this choice to come around, it has finally arrived!

1989 "Mr. White" Turbo II (All stock, old man driven [no offense] 106k miles.

-OR-

1987 "Mr. Red" Turbo II (Comeplete Racing beat exhaust, HKS intake and installed FDC. 114k miles

"Mr. Red" is $700 Less than "Mr. White"

Keep in mind, the 700$ wont break the bank, But being that these two cars differ by year and series Rx-7, i am totally unsure of which vehicle to purchase.

If you were in my shoes, which would YOU choose.

Thanks for you time Gentlemen,

-Markus Reschny (Mazsport Parts Guy)

P.S Prices are $3999 and $3300

Id take the S5 for resale value purposes..they just seem to bring in alot more than S4. If you are planning on modifying the car failrly heavily, Id go S4.

S5 cars have alot of little things that bug me. I dont like the auto seatbelts. The electric OMP is stupid, the power steering system is weird, viscous LSD, and they are heavier. They do look better cosmetically ...but nothing that cant be changed pretty easily on the S4.

So I voted Mr Red

S4 All the way. If I had the choise of what year car I would have gotten I would have gotten either an 88 or 87 TII. To all the bitches out there I say **** LOOKS!. S4 will rock just as good or better than an S5. I just got stuck with an S5 because its the only TII in my town for sale and I didn't have money to travel with a trailer and such.

I would go with the S5, just because it's stock. Buying a modded car is always a risky decision. You dont know the quality of the mods. Sure, the guy can claim he's a pro, or it was done by a pro. But unless it was done by a rotary shop i'd be wary. It's really your preference.

While I usually agree that a stock car is a safer bet, its only an intake and exhaust.. You cant really mess up with that, especially if you know its a brand name RB unit. And the fact that is has a FCD at least showed the owner had some understanding of the car.

If it wasnt for the color, id probably get the white one.

I really dont like white and I love red.

No question that both cars are good deals, those mods on the red car shouldnt factor a whole lot into the price

Which one is cleaner on the inside? body, paint condition? has one been repainted? White paint is easy to keep up. Red is pretty common with the s4's.

the S5 is worth twice as much as the S4....

here in vancouver a good stock S5 would sell for 7-8k usd.

also intake + RB exhuast + FCD = ticking timebomb. I'm surprized it's still running. after a few hard runs it won't be.

Take the '89 and run Of course, I'm thinking about a '90 T2 for the same price, but will offer less, in cash.

I prefer S4's in general so I would get the 87 if it has been correctly built and maintained.

Take the s5, for all of the reasons listed above.
-Higher resale value
-unmodded
-updated styling(ok, debatable, but you know what I mean )
-The wiring and electronics in the s5 are a little fresher
-the white paint is probably in better shape than the red(notorious for fading)

If it were me, I would take the s5 UNLESS the s4 was far superior in terms of paint/interior condition. Hell, you could sell the s5 on ebay for more money than you bought it and then buy the s4. BOTH of them are smoking deals, so you can't lose. Make sure and get it checked out by a mechanic, so there are no surprises. Good luck!

Steve

Dont buy either. Keep looking for a stock turbo II with a new motor installed. Both of these cars have high milage, and you will be kicking yourself when you have to rebuild it.

Get the S5, Old man means it wasn't ragged on and everything is probably in pretty good shape. AT least you know nothing has been stressed much. 89 is newer and IMO a better year than the 87. Price is not bad at all, You better jump on it!

Get whichever one is better all around. If you go with the S5, then get some S4 tails and slap them on there. Stupid cirlces.

Wink WHAT A CHOICE!

As Johnny Cochran would say, if the mods aren't there you should not care and the price is right for Mr. White. Finally, the S5 is the car you should drive.

Mr. Cochran said he'll be sending you a bill for his services and yes, he does use PayPal.

I would take the S5, old people tend to take good care of their cars.

Go for the S5 just because it was driven by an old man so it prolly wasnt beat on. Also people that own modded cars usually beat harder on them, not to mention the mods might wear the car down. Either way good luck with whatever 7 u choose!
