Since i am running the stock turbo, the hotside is 2" and the cold pipe is 2.5. My intercooler core actually has 3" inlet/outlet. so it flows over 1450+cfm (got it pressure/flow tested...good up to just over 48psi...like im gonna run anything near that...) and my piping is pretty safe distance from either one of the battery terminals. I do realize it is alot of piping, but i also dont have to remove a pipe to change my oil and spark plugs. also helps to work on the engine a little bit, since its only 2 worm gears i have to loosen, and a bolt on top of the manifold if i have to take any other that off. but, as REted stated above, once i go koyo and electrical fan, then i should be able to eliminate that giant "S" curve, and just run a straight piece of pipe to eliminate all that piping that goes around the fan shroud. But, razorback is going to sell me his 87 turbo-II tranny for 175 to my door in the next couple of weeks. SOOoOooOOoOooO...looks like that takes precedence over the radiator right now (my tranny has a fucked up set spring--a little **** to shift around from 1st-2nd, and my 5th gear synchro is out). as for the oil temps...i have NO idea...but, considering the intercooler itself is only 6" tall and 3" thick, i am suggesting it shouldnt be AS BAD as a big *** +9" core i see many people use. also, i get to keep my bumper supports. which i stipulated earlier. i just dont like to lean against the front of my car, and feel like i am going to fall into the engine bay. ive done that a couple times...it sucks. and actually REted, if you could still help me out with that wiring for my field sfc, that would be most awesome of you...i also need the dip settings for it...if you could help a fellow rotorhead out. so, after i get the rad-shroud removed, it should look some thing similar to the old school apexi/hks fmic kits...when the outlet was hooking over the top of the intercooler, and the cold pipe ran across the top of the engine in a straight line to the TB. only mine will be a bit shorter. overall, i am impressed, and that turbo wants to spool pretty damn fast now....only if i had a better non-twin scroll turbo with a real wastegate...oh well, that will be later. radiator/tranny/reliability mods (wbo2, etc....) first, fast/fun later.

Thanks for the feedback guys....oh yeah, thanks for reminding me about the oil temp sensor...i am actually anxiously awaiting j-rats pics for his "az heat!" mod!!

Ryan Shannon.

I haven't forgotten!
I had a lot of business inquiries so the past two weekends was trying to help out potential customers.
I should be able to get you the information by the end of the week!

Oh, its cool REted. Youve helped me quite a bit with your responses (whether you know it or not) throughout my (mis)adventures with my Rx. Ive been searching for almost anything i had wrong with this car since ive been putting it back together. Actually, its usually been you, NZconvertible, or Icemark whose responses ive found the most helpful. So, the way i see it, i still owe you a **** load more favors than you need to help me. but, i really would like to lean out my stuff to at least partially rich, instead of "wow, now youre REALLY wasting gas!" i dont mind running rich, but to the degree of what it is now....its not cool. Plus, i need to get the wideband in this weekend...so, i will probly do that first. then try to get the sfc hyper r installed after i have some thing thats accurate to monitor it.

Thanks for everything,
Ryan Shannon.

doesnt the travel of the air into the intake take much longer there by reducing the spool time with that setup?

your setup is completely different than his.. You cant even use ps,or ac which is the main reason he stated for the routing of his pipes... and even if he didnt have that.. I guarantee you he spent alot less money on his than you did on yours...

Although I dont agree on his setup, yours doesnt prove anything. He couldnt even use the stock rad.

Yea it's much harder to keep the p/s + a/c and run your intercooler pipe. The a/c compressor isn't in the pics but it fit's (using it now)--but there sure ain't much room. Here's mine:

Oh forgot to mention it's an FB

I've got one big problem with that set-up...
The rad top bar was cut for the pipes; this compromises strength.
I'd bet if I leaned on that bar (a lot of people do), it'll bend...

That is just a problem when the hood latch isnīt there.
With it in place itīs no problem. I made it out of 3mm stainless steel.
And the engine side of the bar is just cut a little bit.

It also here the sticker I got from Summit comes into play:
"Look as much you want, but please donīt touch!"

Btw the duct tape is gone now... The pop- and blow off is welded
in place.
