I have seen them for sale on a site... but that was awhile ago and I don't remember where. you needed the weber carb lower intake manfold then these bolted to it. I think they had injector ports too for EFI.

Didn't I post something for you a while ago? Where'd that go? Anyway, try Injection Perfection in Australia, who sell everything from just the throttle bodies to complete kits including the TB, pump, computer, etc.

Click on the link above, then click IP Parts (menu on left) > Throttle Bodies > Rotary > Rotary Price List:

IDA Throttle Body 50mm A$590
Malpassi Fuel Pressure Regulator A$160
4 Bosch 600cc Injectors A$420
Bosch Fuel Pump A$295
Fuel Rail A$100
Throttle Position Switch $100
Cable Clamp A$33
Fuel Filter A$29
Pre Filter A$30
Microtech MT-8 Fuel & Ignition ECU A$1,095
Microtech Hand Controller A$200
TOTAL A$3,052

These prices are in Aussie dollars and incluce 10% GST (which wouldn't apply to you), so the total would be about US$1600. Some of those items you might not need (injectors, filters), and you may have another ECU preference.

Damn, can't attach pics again...

This would leave a carb so far behind it's not funny.

I think this is the pic that you were tyring to post

Hey NZ, could this TB be used in a side draft position? Or would it be better to use it in the IDA up/down way?
These are some throttles from http://theracingstore.com/

The TB can be used any way you want. Carbs have to mounted a specific way but EFI TB's don't. The short runners on the downdraft set-up give great top-end at the expense of some bottom/mid-range. The sidedrft set-up like pengarufoo's has longer runners, so you get a fatter mid-range but lose a bit up top.
I'd think the sidedraft set-up might be a bit better for a street car, but downdraft seems to be far more popular over here.

pengarufoo, that looks pretty sweet. Make sure you post some pics and results when it's finished.

the other advantage to the configuration I'm using is it uses the stock lower intake manifold, so you can retain functional aux ports, also helping streetability.

This motor is street ported, and the lower intake manifold has been ported quite a bit, in it's current configuration the manifold has it's aux ports removed including teh actuators, bushings, etc, and the interior of the runner has been ground down where the bushing normally protrudes to remove the obstructions. I plan on comparing the results with a function aux port setup at a later time, just to see if the gain in top end power from not having any obstructions of flow outweighs the low end loss... I want to get into road racing so I might not care about the low end so much, but at least with this setup I can experiment.

OK, i'm confused. that's oviously not a carby. I've never seen one of those. It's electronic? (still have injectors) please give me a rundown, and a local (USA) place i can get that setup. I want to change my regular EFI, but i dont want to go Carby. that is amazing.

more info please.

Thanks - Markus

Markus,

That's a throttle body injection setup mounted on a Weber upper manifold, and with that mated to a stock lower manifold.

We at BR7 Racing in Tallahassee can set you up with such a system, using a Microtech LT8 for a competitive price. Give me a PM, email, or phone call if you're interested.

Wow, that thing is gorgeous! I've been thinking abut a setup like that for ages now. I forgot the prices are in Aussie dollars (thank God...but hey, you pay for what you want anyway ). It'd be interesting to see that type of setup with true dual exhaust (damn, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it ). Wow...I can't imagine the potential...hmmm I guess I should really start saving to get such a setup, or at least similar.

I sent this to Markus, but thought others might be interested... so here goes

You've got two options. The common pieces between the two options are...

- throttle body assembly
- custom fuel rails
- LT-8 (N/A-specific type available in a month or so)
- Pineapple racing 6PI sleeves
- "Pretty" options like colored vacuum hose or stainless steel braided fuel line

If you're interested in keeping the stock 6PI system, we would add an MSD RPM switch to control its actuation. That would keep similar low-end response, at the possible expense of absolute peak power. If not, we can replace it with an aftermarket 13B lower intake manifold. Low end might suffer a small bit, but the top end would SCREAM.

We offer these two options as complete packages. Cost for parts will range from about $1000 to $1300 depending on exactly what you want. If you're interested, we also offer installation and tuning services.

Regards,
Brandon
So there ya' go!

Now here's a question I'm sure doesn't have an easy answer: How about emissions? I know you guys in FL don't have to worry about it, but I'm really interested in something like this. I live in an area that's only slightly better than california when it comes to emissions requirements. So what's the deal? Anyone passed emissions with something like this?

I hate to say it, but it would be next-to-impossible. With careful tuning it could probably pass a sniffer test, but a visual inspection is right out.

No visual test, only a sniffer on a dyno.

It would be very easy to have two maps tuned - one for power/streetability, and one for emissions (in conjunction with a BDC-esque catalytic converter and corvette airpump setup). While I couldn't make any promises, I think the chances would be pretty good.
