irrattic idle 1400-1600 RPM!

this thing just started on friday ( I didn't drive the car all wekend)
I drove to work everything was fine. when I got back home, the idle was much higher and fluctuating between 1400 and 1600 rpm. I did change the upper manifold two weeks ago but this just started. I have no idea what it is. it doesn't do it until it reached normal operating temp either. any ideas?
by the way the car is an 88 n/a with a few mods. I can list them if you like.

first, check for vacuum leaks. Did you miss any vacuum hoses, and sensors you forgot to plug in, etc.

Then check the nuetral switch and clutch switch.
