Iris throttle body...

Just an idea I kind of dreamed up... What if, instead of using a butterfly in the throttle body, you used an iris, like in a camera, instead? I know there are probably a lot of problems with the idea, but figured I would just run it through the forum to see what people thought.

I love ingenuity and creative thinking! Don't know if it would work well or not but I like the idea none the less. If you can figure out a way to do it, I'd love to see it. Watch out you might get flamed for your ideas but don't listen to them.

I think that'd be pretty cool I'd like to see it done. seems pretty hard though.

Garfinkle worked on this twenty years ago he said one problem is the air movement pressing the leaves together and they bind so they do not move to open and close easy. The air sucking on the plates can hold them open for a run a way motor. He was designing this for his turbo motor cycle, 1400cc Kaw
