Question Iridium Plugs???

Has anyone tried or is using these Iridium type plugs....if so are they any better than the good old NGKs....they are supposed to be better in all ranges but I was wondering if that applied to rotarys as well or is it just for those piston junkies.

Waste of money unless you're running a highly modified engine!

One of the guys on the Toyota Tacoma board I occasionally go to, did a dyno test and street 0-60 test and found no difference what so ever on a basically stock motor 3.4 V6 between the Iridium and normal NGK copper plugs.

Since that motor uses a plug very simular to the RX-7; I would conclude that there wouldn't be any changes in an RX-7 other than your wallet would be lighter.

Probably the ONLY difference one would see is a bit longer plug life.

Bingo!&nbsp We have a winner!&nbsp It looks like "iridium" is the next step-up in spark plugs technology since "platinum" to lengthen longevity...

The iridium ads claim that the electrode also stays a bit more evenly heated, which can minimize detonation due to localized heating of the electrode under heavy load...
