Will the S5 idiot cluster fit an S4 dash?

 

what exactly is an idiot cluster ( a question from an idiot )

 

I think hes talken about the warning lights and clock in the middle of the dashboard.

the "angle" of the cluster is different so you would also need a S5 "surround" as well.
not sure if it would wire up the same. don't think so.

 

Depends on year....

The S5 idiot lights are the same lights and angle as the 88 S4, if you match up model (for example the 89 'vert idiot lights fit perfect into a 88 'vert, and the 88 non ABS coupe idiot lights fit fine into a 90 coupe without ABS). The S5 idiot lights and surround is exactly the same as the 88.

But to use a 88+ idiot light cluster in a 87 or 86 FC you will also need to switch out the idiot light cluster surround, with a 88+ surround.

 

Thanks Icemark! Is there any questions you can't answer? Holy ****! Yeah, I just wanted to use the accuall light display (I have a surround for an '87). Aside from the accuall fitment, will they plug into the same wiring harness???

yep, it will plug in just fine again as long as it is the same type.

Again the types are ABS, or Non ABS, Fan, or Vert.

I actually have been looking for a non-ABS one for my vert so that I can have a open trunk indicator (which the 'vert ones don't have).
