interesting problem, need ideas
I have a 87 non-turbo that has an interesting querk. When the engine is well warmed up and then shut off, it will not start if tried in 15 to 30 minutes. It tries but will not catch- after 30 minutes or so it will start ok. Anyone out there had quarks like this?? I know the injectors are leaking and have installed the fuel pump cut off switch. It is always shut off with the switch first. This summer I will send the injectors out for rebuild, but need ideas on the "quark"

Maybe your, like many others, little rubber plugs on the inside of the corner seal have worn away? They're there to (allegedly) help in hot start conditions to raise the compression a bit. Both motors i've torn down to date have had these missing and/or completly worn down.
Next time you try to start it pump the accelerator pedal a few times as soon as you crank it, you'll find it will most probably catch every single time that way.

That is not normal, and indicative of either or all, poor compression, leaking injectors, poor grounds, bad hot start assist, or a bad air intake temp sensor on the dynamic chamber.

It means something is disconnected or broken.
And the title of the thread got edited to reflect the problem, instead of some unclear question.
