Interesting lack of startage...

So I took my TB and UIM off to remove the rats nest and all that... and just for kicks I decided to crank it...you know, make all the stuff come out both the LIM and zost header. Well, something is most definitely wrong because the injectors came shooting out of the fuel rail along with quite a lot of fuel... Why is the fuel pump running with the TB OUT OF THE CAR???

The TB doesn't regulate fuel or fuel pressure when starting. When you turn the key the fuel pump kicks on. I'm sure if you had pulled the fuse for the ECU (forgot what its called) and had the fuel rail bolted down all would have been fine.

Don't Worry You good

Now go take a shower you smell like gas

ummm when the ecu throws a code it stops operation of the fuel pump doesnt it? or just the injectors?
and i'm still wondering what vac hose would leak bad enough to keep the car from starting...
if the AFM is bad does it rev up if you give it gas when starting or does it just cough a bit?

The ECU can throw codes and still give fuel.

When you crank the car if the fuel pump is still connected, fuel pressure will build up. If you didnt have the fuel rail bolted down that's why the injectors flew out and sprayed gas everywhere.

Ditto on the above. For example I got a CEL for my electric OMP and my car still ran just in limp mode.

I honestly dont remember if you can keep the car running with throttle if the AFM is unplugged. Anyways, it would have to be one of the bigger hoses to create a vac leak to keep it from idling, but even then a small vac leak will sometimes stall the car. Just keep looking for it. It could be that one of your orings or grommets on the injectors got pinched in the fuel rail or where they seat causing a vac leak. It happened to me yesterday when eliminated the rat's nest.

EDIT: what codes did you get for your CEL anyway?
