intercooler to use with 60-1
I found an intercooler off a Ford Powerstoke engine, its 30" X 18" X 2" The ports on both sides are 3 inches, total width of the unit is 38-1/2 inches including the ports. would this handle the ~14-16 lbs of boost I'm going to be making? will it fit in the front of the car?

i'm not sure if it will fit in the front.
if you put it right in front of the radiator something like an m2 large fits (12.6w 11.5h 3.5t) you can go a little wider if you can get the wiring out of the way.
if you put it right in the nose just get the new greddy v spec kit and be done with it

Just remember you get what you pay for. But if you don't have that much I guess you have to find an alternative. Im not sure I would go for an intercooler with plastic end caps though.

my guess would be relocate the battery and cut away some metal, I need to measure the rad and then I'll have a better idea. with its size it works out to 1000cc's of cooling
That beautiful pic made me go out to the garage w/ a measuring tape. In the engine bay the "frame rails" are only 29" apart. If 30" is the measurement where the inlet/outlet stick out there is a chance it could sit low enough to clear the hood if placed where the radiator normally goes. If those were core measurements, no way it could fit. In the nose would require major cutting...
Just saw the 38" at inlet/outlet... Thats huge! Mount it horizontally in the front of the engine, placing the radiator at an angle back to make room and ditching stock fan, then put a million louvers in the front to middle of the hood for venting it?

. There are just so many people who ignore the hard evidence and are swept in by the "name brand". Do you realize the HKS Twin kit sells for around $7400 now! Then look at the cost of a pair of GT2835s directly from garret. RPS sells an HKS replica manifold with the same garret flanges, for something like ~400 less! Even better, have some custom weld-els welded on to a couple flanges, and have the thing ceramic coated. It will cost a fraction, look great, and have better heat resistance.Keep in mind the powerstoke intercooler has cast endtanks, which are porous. Combine that with the overkill in size for a 60-1, and you are potentially looking at a sizeable lag and pressure drop in the system. I don't know the flow, cooling BTU, or pressure drop numbers on these things, so I'm just giving you something to look into. NPRs have cast endtanks, and seem to have a neglegable pressure drop.

The deminsions are 24 inches wide the core is 19 3/4 wide 8 1/2 tall 2 1/4 thick with inlet outlet 2 1/4 o.d

Is the general appoin that the super duty is too large?

How about an NPR intercooler, I was searching around on the forum and saw many a post about those. It works out to about 400cc of cooling. When you compare it to 1000cc it seems rather small, but since I don't have the 60-1 yet I'm not sure what is the best for it? The deminsions are 24 inches wide the core is 19 3/4 wide 8 1/2 tall 2 1/4 thick with inlet outlet 2 1/4 o.d
