which intercooler size
i gotta s4 and was wondering what size intercooler set up should i get.
im looking at 3 ebay ic's
HEIGHT X LENGTH X THICK
6.5x18.5x3.5 for 169
9x20.5x2.5 for 168.95
12x24x3 for 178.95
there all about the same price which one would be a better deal and efficiant?
thanx

...94% correct.
Stock turbo and boost? If so you don't need anything bigger than that 6.5 one. Or you can do the ricer thing and just get the biggest one you can fit in the car...

"t04b" means it's just a 2.75" inlet on the compressor housing.
It could be anything from an S-trim to an H-trim?
S-trim is about the same size as a stock Hitachi HT-18.
H-trim has capabilites to produce 400hp at the wheels.
The H-trim roughly flows TWICE as much as the S-trim does.
The "p trim .96" just described the turbine wheel and turbine A/R.
This has nothing to do with the compressor wheel size.

"super H" - now we're getting somewhere.
The H-trim is capable of producing 400hp.
What psi were you thinking of running?
If it's 15psi or more, I would go with the biggest on the list.
The turbo can use that kinda cooling for getting close to 400hp.
Good luck!

OK.... Screw all that Turbo nonsense..... I got some better info....
My IC is 26X8X3.. with a 20X8X3 core.. it sits between the frame rails on my S4 so that the front of it is even with the end of the rails.... its a finned, Modine core, at 15 PSI I never see more that 115 F intake temps....
Please ignor the lip runner.... its been fixed now!!!!!
Here's the kicker..... because it sits in the frame rails..... and takes up the entire area in the tunnel...... the ENDTANKS are in the frame rails.... the ENDTANKS don't flow air through them....... at 3X8 east that 48 square inches of air passage thats blocked by the end tanks......... the rest is core while it flows, its still restrictive
End result is that, until i make up some other ductwork, get a vent hood and/ or a different front bumper.... its impossible for me to use an E-Fan.. not enough air flow through the core to the radiator..... with an E-Fan... at 65 MPH... the temps are still gradually climbing until the fan kicks on.....
The IC is perfect for my car in its cooling capacity and I only spent 500 buc ks on my complete FMIC setup.....
HOWEVER....
the BIG ASSED Greedy FMIC"s have the added advantage of passing more air THROUGH them to the radiator...
Moral.... get the biggest friggin IC possible!!!!!
