Intercooler piping replacement temporary troubleshoot

I'm looking for the measurements to put a pipe from intercooler hose to intercooler hose. Basically I'm troubleshooting my idle and of course we all know the intercooler is in the way of everything. I know there's a thread laying around here somewhere on it, but just can't find it.

Just used a cat life on the 7. I put a 90 degree abs elbow pipe on the hose closest to the firewall then put a rag inside just to keep it clean, then stuck the straight pipe on following by another 90 degree elbow then straight pipe to the hose going to the turbo. Once I had that setup, I started the car and let it idle for about 30 seconds while I inspected my wax pellet and shut the car off. Found out what was wrong, started the car again just to double check and shut the car off, took off the abs pipe and found that I FORGOT THE RAG!!!!!!! The rag was just about to enter the engine!! Imagine the loss at stake there. The damn car wasn't breathing. Thank **** everything is okay though.
