Intercooler options and placing...
I am thinking of upgrading my intercooler, but I really do not want to have a front mount because of all the excess piping. And the fact of less air flow to the radiatoor and possiblity of getting damaged.
I was thinking of using a FD SMIC, not necessarily the oem, but maybe a BLITZ, or Greddy, or someother similar one in size. Is there a problem using a intercooler made for a FD w/ the stock TII turbo? IS there actually a ceratin size you want to try and look for?
Another question is on placing, what type of water pressure effect would I have if I would move the radiator closer, or farther away. Like more angled or have it set up for a layed setup. Or like the smic setup on the FD.
As for a lay down intercooler, how important is it to have a vented hood?
Here is pic of another one I had found...

You can do a front mount.
You can set the radiator back and place the fmic in that space. Like Scott did http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/front.htm
That is my personal favorite if you do not have AC.
You can do a horizontal mount and have the vented hood. http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...ight=jdm+style
You can retain the TMIC and use water injection and an intercooler spray. What I am going to do.
