High miles ??

I need a new motor for my Rx-7, so i called a few junkyards and found a few motors. One has 97k miles on it. Should i be worried about the miles or not ? Can i do anything with the motor before i put it in to see if it's good or not ? What should the numbers be on a compression test ?

N/A or TII motor? Think about it this way, there had to be a reason why that rx7 was put in a junkyard.

N/A, yeah i always think that same thing. I was thinking that it must have been in a accident. They offer a 30 day warranty, so i can't loose. It's only $350 or i found one with 68k miles for $700. I like the $350 better. How many miles can you get out of one of these motors ?

A lot if you tear it down and rebuild it. The stock components are good, but could have been better.

I just recently started rebuilding my 220K NA motor, and it's in great shape. i really honestly probably didn't have to rebuild it, but as i had just gotten the car, and don't know anything about it, i figured: start fresh. To be true, though, i don't know if the engine really had 220 on it, but the wear looks about right for it, and nothing else seemed to have been changed... so i'd say, yes, you can get a long time out of them, if the engine has been treated right..
