Interchangability of brake components

I was wondering if a brake booster and master cylinder off of an 88T2 would fit on my 89 GXL. Both are 5 lug cars if that matters. Anyone ever done this?

How about putting the 4piston calipers on the back wheels of an 88 T2? Could this be done?

Sorry to change the subject. : )

I don't know anyone that has done it... someone may have but,

No point... the majority of the braking is done in the front

Yeah about 80% of the braking happens in the front, 4 pistons in the rear is pointless.

May I ask(and not to pinpoint you) why the **** everyone keeps thinking that AAS has ANYTHING to do with brakes? IT does not. I have parted out over 50 FC's of all types and yesrs, the only differences are 4 lug, 5 lug, 5 lug beig and small, (89-90 GTU vs GXL), and ABS and non-abs. That's it, everythign else swaps.

How do you know if your car has abs? I have a 90 GXL and i was hoping to change out the master cylinder with a 89 gtu master. Is this gonna work or no? If it comes down to abs or not how do i tell?

Sorry, dude - I gotta ding ya on that one.

Just over a year ago my '86 GXL was smoked at an intersection. So I swapped its engine into my 86 GX parts car. I also swapped over all the GXL parts I could, including the drivetrain, suspension and AAS. But the GX did not have the connectors on the rear harness for the AAS motors that go on top of the shock towers, nor the selector switch in the center console. I had to dig the rear harness out of the GXL and transplant it. Major PITA, btw.
