Intake Temp @ Normal OP

Simple question for someone who knows;

How hot does a LIM get at normal operating temprature?

I wish I knew that one. I know my upper gets so hot from regular driving that I can't touch it. Its got to be pretty damn hot to not be able to touch it for more than a second. Thats not even on a hot day. That can't be good for power. I'd like to have it ceramic coated to help keep the temps down. the RX-8 upper manifold is composite while the lower is aluminum. You can touch the RX-8's easily. It gets warm but thats it.

find someone who had one of those laser thermometer things and use it. i think they are called pyrometers

why do you need to know? I'm sure there is a difference b/t the outside surface temp and the temp of the air moving through it. a lot of the heat is probably localized at the bottom near exhaust manifold.
