Question Intake questions on a 91 N/A

i have a 91 N/A with and exhaust system from the headers back. The exhaust has been on the car for a year or so now. My problem is that im burning off too much fuel in the exhaust now. Ive been looking into an intake but every post on here says to keep the stock air box. Does anyone have any decent suggestions?

What do you mean by "burning off too much fuel in the exhaust" ?

Aftermarket intakes probably wont help much is the general consensus - but if you want to, all you need is an air filter that fits onto your air flow meter [it has a circular opening going into the air box] and then to build a box around it [blocking the heat from the radiator and rest of the engine bay from getting to the air filter] but you need to custom build that yourself [and include a method of holding the AFM relatively still]

A replacement for the stock air box will not affect the air-fuel ratio. The ratio is determined by the engine control unit (ECU) and the airflow meter (AFM). In order to change the ratio you would need to modify the signal in the ECU or from the AFM with a modified ECU, standalone EMS, or piggyback ECU. You would also need to take the car to a professional shop for tuning since you do not have that knowledge. It is better to ask your local shop what they recommend to make your car drive like you wish as opposed to trying to figure it out on your own.
