Intake piping.

Is there a company that makes a straight intike system for the s5t2? I found corksports but its like the stock intake, curved only made of aluminum. I think a straighter pipe would be more eficient. My torbo is still in its stock location too.

No. An intake pipe set up of somesort. To replace the turbo inlet duct. I saw that hks has an intake system but it looks like those are more for aftermarket turbos that have been repositioned.

Well, that would be pre-turbo. But I would love a aftermarket straight intake pipe, with the original AFM, recirc valve and so on. Well, not recirc, but not too much mods with all the wires, sensors and hoses.

I'd prefer steel/alu on the pipe from the AFM to the turbo still. Looks better imo. And it is very visible in the car too, so it counts for a lot.

you'd want stainless for all the piping in your engine bay as it reflect the heat away from the intake.

Don't worry about straight vs. curvey. The difference is minor and you will never tell.

It is hard to beat the price of the Corksport TID when you consider the materials and labor to make one. Sure, Corksport has some quality issues but then again, look at the price.

This is an old pic, but I had to just go "short ram" on it with the old front mount. I really didn't see any better way of routing the IC pipes and having the filter w/ AFM in a good location.

So this is what I was going to do with it, before I got the front mount intercooler:

It's just a piece of 3" mandrel bent exhaust pipe. It was a 90', but I chopped it in half, phased it to how I needed it, and welded it up. It was only painted at the time.

So I never got to use it with the front mount, it just wouldn't fit.

But that was a stupid setup anyways. So I cut and welded the front out of the car and turned it into a V-mount. And I got a Megasquirt, so I don't need the AFM anymore. And I powdercoated the pipe, inside and out. So no corrosion.

I'll have to try and get a photo of the most recent phase it's gone through...

my pictures are of two different cars, first one was TMIC, second one is Vmount. The v-mount picture the filter goes through the rad support and the filter is where the headlight was. maximum cold air.

thats what i thoght was going on in the pics. In the first pic What did you make the section out of where the filter is sittng in? Aluminum? Did you still have the head light then? In the second pic where you did the v mound did you get rid of the afm on the intake or is it behind the rad support? So your runnung with a missing head liight too?
