intake idea

I was just wondering if anyone thought of using those "electric superchargers" for some good. Maybe running one inline, through a fresh-air tube from the front of the car. Could run it to a cold-air box. Should help to bring in more air and faster I would think. Let me know what you think.

actually, if you have a really powerfull computer with lots of heatsinks and fans, you could run it in reverse through some 3 or 4" ducting out the window so it doesnt heat up the room and **** w/your A/C

Kind of like an exhaust for your PC.

that would be the only way that i would put them (fans). if they can move enough volume of air it might be worth while.

but those things are loud as hell and when its running its gonna sound like some kind of hairdryer so that would suck big time.

I think it would probably hinder the air flow more than help it.

exactly what I was going for... the fan blades are gonna cause a problem. It may move some air, but fans don't move NEARLY enough air to make a difference there. They're made for recirculating, not for adding new air to a system. Keep the thinking up though, cause it's always the "dumbass ideas" that make the money and are breakthroughs that people wish they would've though of

i have a huge fan on my computer. its a monster, if you try holding it in your hand while it's on, it'll pull your hand all over the place. it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

ok, on this idea, i belive radioshack has soem computer fans that are arond 650cfm, which is more than the stupid 200cfm on the electric "supercharger", now, my idea, mount the fanup in the front of the car,run a tube that goes to the cold air box (but the cold air box is designed to get the air from behind the headlight), just to add a little air...it can bring in the cold air at like 650cfm and put it right to where the filter is, so the engine can pull it in, now thats not for the "supercharger" effect, but a way to bring cold air in, now, doing all this would be a very great waste of time for about, no benefit, maybe .0001 hp. lol..
