if it is an S4, you'll need AFM adapter to use a cone filter, and for the air pump, go to a local auto parts place a get one of the small K&N breather filters and put it on the intake tube.

^^^ yeah, what they said.

Are you making it a true cold air intake(cold air box or fender well) or just slapping a cone filter on it? Because just putting a cone filter on will lose horsepower.

Here's a great source of information upon how to create your very own cold air box!

BTW here are some examples...so you get the general idea.

^^^you could do that, or you could build a fender well intake.

Heres a link, its not mine but it has a lot of pics and info on how to make it.

Dyno and real world proven on FCs.

With just a cone filter and no cold air box, you loose about 5 HP over the stock air box due to the inceased air temp and loss of air density of the air being sucked in.

Couple of threads already on this with actual dyno sheets posted.

Most people think that they are getting more HP when using a cone, simply because the motor sounds louder, growlling like it is making more HP.

But on the Tacoma using the stock air box with the deck plate mod, or relocating the Cone into the fender cavity, actually net'd about 5 RWHP more than just the stock air box.

Our cars are no different (except I think the deck plate mod wouldn't work on our air boxes, just because of the underhood heat issues).

The s4 link is broken.
Is it basically the same build?
Any ideas?

I need a preview before buying. 90FC, considering you have done this mod before, will this intake on ebay work? Prelude 92-96 CAI

I will replace the filter with either K&N or Apexi.

What do you all think of this K&N performance intake? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MobmVlM...5005&s=0&cc=01 from what ive read, it would lead to hp loss, but with a cold air box, would you have a gain?
