i have an 87 n/a and i was just wondering what good intakes for a decent price are out there. i couldn't find too many. also do all intakes come with the connections for those 2 hoses on the stock intake?

i was stupid and spent 200$ on an k&n intake !

 

apexi and k&n seem to be the most popular...both are around 50 bucks. then you have to get the adapter plate and **** too. they dont come with the hoses. you gotta fab up some mounting brackets too. if your car is stock, dont even worry about it, its not worth the money. just get a k&n drop in.

 

i wouldnt say your stupid for buying a K&N filter... but i think you could have found one for a lil cheaper... even if you just find the filter you dont need to buy the adapter ... you can just jimmy rig it on.... ive only ever heard of the K&N, its best because its washable and really does its job the best... some people use the foam filters (which have great airflow but let in more particals then factory)... so i guess K&N is the way to go, just search around for your best buy, i payed $140cdn

 

research a cold air intake or you will probably notice a power loss. at least if you do it keep the stock shroud over the radiator to direct cooler air flow to the filter.

 

You can get a adapter from HiGGi @ http://www.fc3spro.org for $30. Then buy a K&N at a local place (cone filter, 3" inlet) for around $30-$50 or go get any other air filter to your choosing (may be more or less). After all of that you'll be a happy camper with good cost, quality, and performance.

 

Jump on ebay and order one there, it comes with the adapter plate....I got mine for 9bux plus 5 shipping. The filter is crap but the plate is nice. I chunked the crap filter and put a K&N on mine...
