Intake on 1989 S5 Turbo....

With a few mods that i have the car runs 10psi and spikes at 13psi, i was told if i put an intake on the car it will be hitting around 15psi and thats obviously a little much, it has RB turbo back exhaust, HKS Fcon, etc etc but was wondering because i wana put an intake on it ....

Thanx in advance....

You have an FCD or any sort of fuel control on that? If not, you are looking to blow your motor by running that high boost.

Port your wastegate, THEN resume with your mods.

no i dont have a FCD, i know there pretty cheap so i should probably get one....

the turbo is somewhat going from what i hear so i guess i need to look into a hybrid of some sort i was told....

so i should hold off on the whole intake idea?, from what i know i have a drop in K&N filter, LOL!...

No, without a FDC you physically can't run that much boost, so there's not much risk of blowing anything.

Go4Long, if you're running over 8.6psi then you do have a FCD somewhere. The only way to get boost control back is to increase wastegate flow. Remove the turbo and port the two wastegate passages. You should also be seriously considering a fuel pump upgrade.

Note that your K&N panel filter will not be having any noticeable effect on performance...

The FCD probably came with the Fcon, and someone didn't realize it/know what it was/tell him that it was a FCD

well my friend who sold me the car did say that the car has an FCD, i dont know where or what it looks like but i guess it does.... so mainly i should port the waste gate, get a fuel pump then get the intake...?

how good are the stock fuel injectors, or mabe i should rephrase that, how long before i need to upgrade my fuel injectors...?

any other tips would be wicked, thanx....

Yep, yep and yep.

With the right pressure (an upgraded pump) and the right control (your F-Con) the stock injectors are good for ~300hp. You shouldn't try to push the stock turbo up to that level, so until you upgrade the turbo the stock injectors will be okay.

He has boost control problems and you want to add something that can only raise it further? Until you have proper boost control, a boost controller should be at the bottom of the list.

Look at your Pressure sensor, and if theres a little black box connected to it, that could be a FCD. make sure its connected too, some ppl disconnect/ground it to bypass fuel cut.
