installing SAFC and A/F gauge on ECU

is it ok to install both the SAFC and an A/F gauge on the ECU since they share some of the same wires? (power, ground, etc...), i realize the ECU has a couple grounds so which would i use for the A/F gauge? or should i just ground it to the chassis? thanks

Hey J-Rat... (I'm helping him install this thing heh) grounding to the chassis is fine, I was just worried that since it does pull voltage from a few sources... if the ECU "ground" is actually a measured ground, then by not grounding to the ECU I'd be confusing the ECU. And since the SAFC uses TWO grounds, and one is specifically supposed to be closer to the ECU than the other one, I didn't know where I would attach it to that ground at.

Also, ignition wire... would that be the same power supply the SAFC uses? I'm just guessing it is, because the SAFC only turns on when the car is ON (not acc. mode).

Edit: Oh and does anyone know where a good place for the ILLUMINATION is in the ECU?

All connections for both the S-AFC and A/F gauge should be made at the ECU, nowhere else.

No! Follow the S-AFC instructions regarding the ground wires.

thanks, the SAFC is already hooked up and the grounds are in the proper location, my question was about the A/F gauge so it looks like we'll just pick another ground wire

What kind of A/F gauge are you using?

Easiest is to put a ring terminal on the ground wire and bolt it under a nearby nut or bolt.

when you say to wire it into the ecu, is there a way to do it without cutting wires?

The only wire that needs to be cut when installing an S-AFC is the AFM signal wire, because this signal is what's intercepted and altered to adjust fuelling. All of the other connections, as well as the A/F gauge connections, are made by tapping into the wires, not cutting them.
