Question installing oil pressure guage?

my oil pressure is going nuts but the car runs the same so i want to figue out if its just the guage. i looked in the haynes manual and it shows a pictue of two lines that say high pressure fuel line disconnected. i was planning on disconnecting them but wasnt sure if they are under pressure and are going to spray fuel all over when i take them off. i need to get them out of the way to connect the guage, are they under pressure?

There is no need to disconnect the fuel lines in order to replace the oil pressure sensor. Just remove it, replace it and voila!

So your hooking up a aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge to test if your stock one is off? The aftermarket gauge (adapter) most likely won't be the same threading as the stock gauge.
