Installing AC...mostly.

Recently, I bought an AC compressor off a member. Now as I look into my engine bay, and the FSM, my AC compressor is on the right side of the engine in clear view. Now, in order to install this, I'm assuming that I have to unscrew the four bolts, along with pulling off the lines, and somehow the belt, then just pop in the "upgraded" AC compressor, and put the stuff back together, correct? But as I look further into the FSM, I noticed that I may need alot more than just AC....more like an actual rebuild of the engine.

For example, when i use to idle, I would hear knocking noises coming from under me, and can even feel them. Others include, currently, after adjusting my CAS so that i can get better idling, this also caused me to have a hard time starting the car when warm, thus, having to lightly press the gas pedal. If I were to put my distributor back into it's original spot, starting would be a breeze, but idling would be pretty much, non existent(sp). Example, if I were to stop, my idle would drop to base line and below, thus constantly bouncing or just flat out stall.

Edit: the left side of the engine.....one or the two.
