installing 13b re. need some help

I was wondering if anyone here has experience installing a 13b re cosmo motor in a TII. I searched the formuns but couldnt find the info that i was looking for(maybe i didnt searched hard enough). what i want to know is if i can run stock ecu and if the exhaust manifold for the turbo is the same since i have an upgraded turbo. i know the engine mounts have to be replaced and can be aquired from KRD,but is this all i have to change and also does the stock tranny mount right on to the moter.
Just wondering cause a friend of mine can get me one for 1300$ cad without tranny.
thanks for your help guys.

only a couple people have done it that I have seen...
which exhuast manifold and which turbo? it comes twin turbo. your manifold and turbo might fit though. if you want to use it over the twins.

I don't think I'd use the stock ecu... best bet is a full standalone. haltech etc.

it's "alot" of work to put one in... you'll certainly need alot more then just the engine and mounts.

bigger rad, custom FMIC, etc.

thanks for the reply, i currently have a garret grand national t4 turbo, the turbo is not actually installed yet i just got all the other parts for the turbo, so i was planning to drop the turbo and fmic very soon into my current TII motor. which is why i wanted to know if the exhaust manifold was the same. i currently only have money left for the install and fmic. i would probbaly have enough for just for the motor very soon.

you can use either the fc or fd manifold, the fc will give you a little more clearance, and would be a better choice. You will need a fmic, and an ems system, i dont know anyone that has put this motor in there car with the stock ecu. You will also need motormounts which you can get from fc3s.org,

Talk to tony turbo II on the forum, he has this setup in his car.

You can also check out www.nightracer.com which is the home of 2751 engineering, they have done this swap and the 20b swap, a good sorce for some install pics.

I beleive this is not a deff thing on TurboII getting this car... and i dont think he is doing the work... However you can get a hold of TurboII and he can direct you to the guy who is actualy doing the work.

thanks fot the quick replys guy's. would you recommend using the haltech e6k or microtech lt8 for this swap. or do i need to use something totally different.
P.S. this swap will probably not take place for a couple moth's or until i can find a beater to boot around in while this swap commences. as well i will post exactly what i done (with pics) for this swap to hopefully work.

Either of the ECU's will work. Microtech is cheaper, Haltech has more features and a larger base of users and tuners

I love these posts. Its one of the few things I can speak on and be 100% sure im right.

The ECU plan is iffy. A guy named Seth on here is running the stock Cosmo ECU in his TII. I think it gave him some problems though. Your best bet is to run an aftermarket ECU. A Microtech of Haltech will work fine, Microtech being a little cheaper, Haltech being a little more advanced, more $ and a few extra inputs/outputs.

As far as the turbo is concerned, you can use one from an FC, but it will require some custom work on the oil lines, and coolant lines. It will bolt up fine, but not to the exhaust manifold that came on the motor.

As far as the mounts are concerned, You can use K2RDs, but FC3s.org sells them too, for $200 cheaper. The tranny mount isnt effected, so dont sweat it.

I could go on about a million things, so if you have any questions, PM me. Theres also another guy on here whos done the swap, NOTA944. I think hes got a post on here talking about the swap. I have a few on the other forum too.

thanks for the reply's guy's. i think i got most of the information that i need. just one last question, on wed im planning to drop my car off to install the turbo on my current tii motor. a new exhaust manifold is being fabricated for the new turbo and the intercooler will be installed a week later by another shop, should i make any requests when their making the exhaust manifold i know the piping for the intercooler is going to have to modded aliitle because of the RE elbow. oh yeah and the rason why im not doing the motor first than the turbo upgrade is because my current turbo is cracked and im getting exhaust fumes in the cabin as well i need at least a month to save up for the motor and pick up a second car, this whole upgrade all started when i just wanted to do only the turbo, than i got convinced to do the intercooler etc etc etc, im sure you all know how it goes.
oh yeah i plan to do all this with a buddy of mine in my garage, if anybody is looking for a good motor with cracked turbo, ill probably have mine for sale in a month or two, so you can check the motor bofore its pulled out.
thanks alot for the reply's guys, im sure youll here alot from me in the near future is this swap commences.
as well COSMO DONK you got a great web page, your paged helped me answer alot of other questions.
