installed profec b today
Well I installed the greddy profec b today. I was boosting a solid 7.5 or so and it stayed there through all RPMs just about. Now I had it pretty damn low and and made a run and hit like 14# so I turned it down until it was at like 11.5 or so. But now the boost doesn't really hold like it did before. Its not really a solid 11.5, kinda dies down at the higher RPMS(6-7k). What causes this?
old turbo, wastegate stuck, exhaust leaks also, the same thing happened to me on the stock y pipe which had many leaks I would boost to 12 then it would fall to like 7 or 8 not with my custom single, I hold 9psi all the way through 3rd and 4th, not as much boost but I still think it runs faster, now just as a clarification you can't turn down bost with a boost controll correct? I mean if your just driving around town turn in down to like 6psi is that possible?
I think basically if you turn the boost controller all the way down it will have the wastegate open all(or most?) of the time. It doesn't mean that the boost will necessarily go down or what.
Oh and I think I noticed that when I made the response less sharp the boost stayed higher in the higher RPMs. When I put my intercooler on do you think that it will make it worse or have no effect on it?

I thought the wastegate on a car stayed closed or partialy so. And when it is time to start bleeding down the boost to a preset. The gate would open. Diverting exhaust gas around the turbine. Therefore, producting less boost.
